As a MUSLIMAH, what defines who you are? Do you stand out? Or do you blend with the crowd? What do you do that makes you that exceptional woman?

Do you ponder and wonder about what it means to be a Muslimah? Yes, it is important you know who you are and what you represent both as Muslim and as a woman. Next you have to give your life a purpose, you’d need to discover what makes you YOU. Every proud Muslimah has to take this lifelong trip of in-depth reflection by answering the question: how am I expected to stand out? I am on this path of self-discovery and improvement, if you are on this journey too, come with me and let’s learn, know and do what will make me and make you exceptional. Welcome aboard the Proud Muslimah Magazine ship; here we give pride, purpose and direction to the ardent servant of Allah.

Many people toil all their lives to get a sense of direction, luckily for us however, in Islam, all these questions are answered from the Quran and Hadiths down to the lifestyle of the Prophet and the sahabahs.

One of the most prominent feature that physically defines a MUSLIMAH is, apart from the shadah (testification of faith) is the compliance with the verse of the Holy Quran on the use of hijab. Your hijab is very important if you are to be recognized as a muslimah. Your hijab gives you the introduction you deserve before your mouth does.

What defines you next, are your roles and responsibilities. There are the most basic ones associated to every woman which are being a daughter, or a wife (whether working or not depends on you), or a mother. Yeah you have heard it too many times you ear hurts but these stages according to statistics is inevitable for more than 80 percent of women across the globe. So, just like for most women you are stuck in this cycle except when circumstances give you less or more to handle.

Yet as a Muslimah, you need to do more than these basic roles. As a Muslimah I challenge you to be more than the ordinary. Aisha (May Allah be pleased with her) was not just the Prophet’s wife, she was a renowned scholar. She couldn’t have achieved this without doing more than was ordinarily expected of her by her contemporary society.

So, if you want to grow that personality, take that business to the next level, get that multi-millions paying job, whatever it is that will make you stand out, you’d need to start putting in  the extra shift.

It is part of who you are, it is part of what a MUSLIMAH is.  You are a nation builder. You are a world builder. So dear sisters, I am aiming for the top, and it’s not “See you at the top”, take my hand and let’s get to the top together!

Thanks for reading the Proud Muslimah magazine.
